IāM LAURA
and I take pictures of my friends
I am a science teacher/coach, turned nurse, turned mom (4 times), turned photographer. Some days, I am all of these. Some days, I am not sure who I am or where I am going. I depend on Christ to remind me that I have a purpose and that it is ok that I am not perfect. I cherish my friends like they are my family. I have a potty mouth which I have been trying to work on for years. Did I mention I'm not perfect? I am my own worst critic and a recovering perfectionist.
I cry easily. Any extreme feeling....... tears. I can't help it.
For as long as I can remember, I have loved taking pictures. As a kid, I spent a lot of money getting film developed at the one hour photo up the street from my house. I briefly assisted a photographer when I was in my 20's but didn't really figure out how to use a camera until my oldest child was born.
Lifestyle photography is what I enjoy most. Capturing the essence of your family at that specific time in your life is my art. It's what I do with my family. It is what I think is important. As a mom, It's vital to record life as it is. Beautiful and chaotic.
I am a proud Spectrum Inspired contributor and have been featured in their magazine. If you want an amazing cause to support, look no further.
You can find me in Dear Photographer Magazine: The light issue and also at Voyage Phoenix magazine. I am also proud to have been included on the list of 2018 artists of the year over at Unraveled Academy
